Student Ministry Guide

Sunday Morning Student GCFThis student fellowship group is led by Jim and Karen Donohoo and will meet in the youth room on Sunday mornings from 9:00am to 10:00am. This group is geared towards middle school and high school students ages 13-18. This year the students are studying Desiring God curriculum titled “Your Word is Truth”. They will be learning about God’s absolute truth revealed in His Word and how to live it out in a culture where truth is considered relative.

Wednesday Night Student Gathering—The students will be gathering together during the midweek to fellowship, worship and study the Word of God. This year we will be studying the Desiring God curriculum “Abiding in Jesus” as we learn what it means to live a life connected to the vine of Christ. This gathering will include a time of recreation, fellowship, large group bible study and discussion time as well as a small group time for a deeper more practical look into what we are studying. It all begins at 6:00pm for recreation and will end around 8:00pm. This time will be led by Pastor Jarrett and other youth leaders.

Visitation Nights—On the Wednesday nights during the school year when we don’t have family night, the students will be going out on visitation. We will be meeting at the church at 6:30pm to go out and visit students who have visited the church or those who we have been missing from our times together. This is a great way for the students to learn how to share their faith and minister to one another.

Disciple-This is a new ministry that will be starting up this Fall 2011 for students who have a passion to know Christ and want to know what it means to follow Him. This ministry is designed to hold students accountable for daily fellowship with Christ with a goal to prepare them to be servant leaders in the student ministry and to be future leaders in the church.

Servant projects/activities—The goal of Broken Student Ministry is to develop students to be servants wherever they go. We will plan specific servant events throughout the year so the students can get hands on experience in serving others. This will include service projects that help Grace Community Church, local ministry organizations and evangelism efforts in our community.
