Jesus’ Great Commission for His Church was …

“… go and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19)

Every Christian is called to be an evangelist; to tell others the glorious truth of eternal life through Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World. However, the task to which Christians have been called does not stop there. We are called to go into the world and “make disciples!” A ‘disciple’ is a student of Christ’s teaching, a follower and an imitator of His example. To obey Christ’s command to make disciples is to invest our lives in a cause with eternal significance.

The “Spiritual Boot Camp” book prepares Christians for the spiritual warfare every Christian must endure in this life as a disciple and a follower of Christ. Vital “spiritual strategies” are laid down in Chapter One and the remaining chapters provide practical help in the implementation of these strategies. Practical tools for effective discipleship are included; such as the Forty-Day Chart, the Scripture Memory System, the Record of Daily Bible Reading Chart, the Troubles List, and the Accountability Partner Checklist.

This book contains more than just a set of tools, it provides instruction to ground the new disciple in vital doctrinal knowledge about our enemy (the world, the flesh and the devil), it discusses worship and obedience from the heart, it demonstrates the crucial importance of the promises of God and the power contained in them, and it provides essential information about how to recover from the sin and failure which is inevitable in every Christian’s life.

The Spiritual Boot Camp book will equip you with the practical tools you need to “… go and make disciples.” You can use it in your personal one-on-one ministry to others, or to lead an exciting in-depth small group discipleship program. This material was developed in the context of pastoral counseling and can be used in personal or pastoral counseling as well.

At Grace Community Church, Spiritual Boot Camp is level three in the Foundational Classes through which new members pass. It is a solid, practical tool to help do a thorough job of discipleship in the local church. It can help populate your church with truly spiritually mature Christians who are ready to disciple others.

A limited number of DVDs are available containing an actual series of SBC small group meetings taught by Pastor Groves. These could be viewed by a small group or used to help leaders prepare for their own SBC group meeting. Ask about these when you contact us.

Pastor Groves and other trained individuals are available to schedule SBC conferences upon request. Conferences can be adapted to different time frames with greater or fewer sessions.
