Elders Update on Gatherings -- 03/17/2020
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. Psalm 42:11
Grace Community Church Family,
The world is experiencing a very difficult time right now. No one was prepared for it. We all know that God is sovereign over every molecule and is still on His throne; so we have nothing to fear. At the same time we live in a fallen world where disease is a real threat.
We hate to cancel any of our gatherings. A season of such trial is an important time in the life of the church, and we should yearn for those opportunities to come together. As the world around us faces fear and insecurity, there is not a better place to be than at church with God’s people, reflecting on the sovereignty, providence, and goodness of our Lord. At the same time we do have many in our flock who are more susceptible (or caring for someone more susceptible) to the disease. In addition, there is the need to exhibit love to the many weak and vulnerable beyond our body. Moreover, President Trump has issued a plea that persons avoid gathering in groups of more than 10.
For all of these reasons, we are canceling ALL of Grace Community’s meetings of more than 10 people and also Seasoned Salt since this is the very group which is most at risk. Though we can’t personally be together, it doesn’t mean we can’t meet around the Word of God. We will live stream the sermon at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings. For now our plan is to continue this through Palm Sunday with the prayer and hope that we can resume some normalcy on Resurrection Sunday. If circumstances demand a change to this plan, we will communicate that to you in due time.
Since giving is an important part of our worship and ongoing ministry, we are encouraging you to drop off your offering with the church receptionist Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. You may also mail it or give online.
To give online, go to ourgcc.com and click on the “Give Online” block or click this link:

In addition, you can visit sermonaudio for past sermons both audio and video by going to ourgcc.com and clicking on “Sermons.”
Please communicate with pastors and elders any special needs you experience. We will be trying to make periodic contact with you. How long these measures will be necessary is uncertain, but we will want to be able to look back on this experience and know that we did not unnecessarily put anyone in danger and all to the glory of God.
Hoping in Him,
The Elders of Grace Community Church
