Grace News 04/11/2020
As I was walking around our neighborhood with Melissa this afternoon, I got to thinking about it being the Saturday before the anniversary of the resurrection of Jesus. I began to imagine what it would have been like for the disciples that in-between day. He had been telling them that he would be killed and then be raised on the third day. It simply did not click with them until after he had actually been raised. What sorrow must have filled their hearts! I am thankful today that it is not the in-between time but the time after Jesus’ resurrection, after the gospel has been preached now for two thousand years. I am thankful that as I anticipate celebrating the resurrection of Jesus tomorrow that I know even tonight that he is alive. It makes all the difference! Thank God for the cross and thank God for Christ’s victory over death. I am excited to be preaching tomorrow about "Resurrection Hope." The regular service will stream live at 10:15 am. Click HERE to go to the You Tube page. To locate the bulletin, song sheet, and sermon outline, click HERE.
I also want to remind you of our drive-in service tomorrow morning at 8:00. It will last approximately 30 minutes. Dick Neustifter will lead us in joyful praise and Pastor Ted Groves will be speaking. You will need to access the song sheet and bulletin by clicking HERE as we will not be handing out song sheets at the service.
Please arrive several minutes early in order to get situated in your parking spot. The deacons will be on hand to assist in parking so that we keep our distance and disperse well to enhance a view of the proceedings under the tent. It is supposed to rain in the morning, but that will not stop the early morning resurrection service! You will need to tune your radios to 88.3 FM to receive the audio. Please remember you must remain in your cars. No restroom facilities will be available. We were asked if we would be able to receive offerings at this time. Yes, we will have a receptacle into which you can place them.
If you are unable to make it or want to tune in while at the service, this early service will also be streamed live!! Click HERE to go to the You Tube page.
GCF groups will not be meeting in the morning so that you will have plenty of time to transition between the early service at church and the regular service in your home.
I was reading this morning a psalm very appropriate to the joy of Christ’s resurrection.
Psalm 100
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
3 Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5 For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
I look very much forward to seeing many of you in the morning!!
Hallelujah! Christ is risen indeed!
